How to Qualify for the IMCF World Championships?

Only a National Organization (NO) representing a country can become a member or partner country of the IMCF.

1. National Organization (NO) is the association / federation of the clubs in a country or other legal body representing fighters and developing the medieval combat sport on the national level in the country. Its membership can be based on individuals, clubs or regions as it best fits the country.

2. NO should be open for all who want to join although it is allowed to have established rules for recruiting and excluding members, these rules have to be ordinary / common in the country or internationally recognized as common. These rules cannot be of a discriminating nature.

3. NO is obligated to choose their representative for the IMCF board according to commonly known procedures, the members of the NO has to have a possibility of removing this person from his position. The representative for the IMCF board has to represent the interests of both: national organization and the federation itself.

4. NO is obliged also to have procedures of nominating the head of NO and / or Board, the members of the NO has to have a possibility of removing this / these persons from their position. The head of NO / board is responsible for appointing a person to be responsible for the National Team (captain/coach) this person can be removed by the head of NO / board. The post of leader (president, chairman) of NO, team captain and IMCF representative can be held by the same person.

5. The NO must commit to participate at the IMCF events and should work to promote the sport within their country. The NO is responsible for assembling their national team, and has to do this in a process where all fighters from the country has a chance to be considered for the team.

6. The NO accepts that all broadcasting media rights for the IMCF medieval combat world championship competition format belongs to the IMCF.

7. If there is more than one organization in a country willing to become NO under the IMCF, the IMCF will ask of them to form one large organization to represent the fighters of that country. If this is not possible the IMCF presidium will find out whether both applicant organizations are willing to live up to this ruleset, if they are the presidium will collect as much data about the contenders as possible, and present all the data to the IMCF board which will then vote on which organization gets the right to participate in the IMCF. The other organization will be advised to join the chosen organization.
